Each year WPLS provides all of its members with the opportunity to participate in a mock trial.
Members are able to form teams or register individually to be assigned to a team. Each teams go through many rounds judged by law students and practicing lawyers leading to the final round between the top two teams.
This round determines who will win the $1000 prize and title of Mock Trial Winners.
WPLS provides a mock LSAT monthly for all members. We provide past LSAT tests and time each section, as if they were in their real LSAT test. This is an extremely beneficial aspect of the club for those members planning to write their LSATs in the near future, or for those who just want to see what the LSAT entails.
Toronto Firms Trip
Each year WPLS invites their members on a trip to downtown Toronto to visit some of the best firms in Canada.
This past year WPLS visited Goodmans LLP and Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP. We also stopped by the Toronto Courthouse where members had the opportunity to sit in on criminal trials.
Law School Info Sessions
In the fall WPLS brings in representatives from various Law School to discuss the various aspects of each school. They will provide members with information such as required grades, LSAT scores, etc. Stay tuned to the WPLS Facebook page for more details!
WPLS offers a networking social in each semester providing members with the opportunity to network with other members of WPLS, Western Law students, articling students and practicing lawyers from the London area. These events provide food for members along with the opportunity to directly speak with, and ask questions to, various people who are at various places in their law careers.
A Day in the Life of a Law Student
WPLS in partnership with Western Law provides WPLS members with the opportunity to sit in on law school classes to experience first-hand what law school will entail.
